Welcome to the Lake Dalrymple Wind Farm
Lake Dalrymple Wind Farm is a proposed large-scale renewable energy project west of Collinsville. The wind farm is expected to produce up to 1,000+ MWs of wind energy.
The project will supply clean electricity to the Queensland grid, supporting the Queensland Government’s Energy Roadmap for affordable, sustainable energy.
The project is expected to be fully operational by 2032. Once operational, the project is expected to power over 430,000 Queensland homes and prevent around 2.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
The Lake Dalrymple Wind Farm will employ around 250 people during construction and over 15 full time ongoing operational and maintenance staff, delivering regional economic benefits.

Deliverable Target
The Lake Dalrymple Wind Farm would deliver 1,000+ MW of wind energy, contributing to the Queensland Government’s Energy Roadmap which aims to deliver an additional 6.8 GW of wind and solar generation by 2030.
Fully Operational
Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate enough clean energy to power over 430,000 Queensland homes each year and prevent up to 2.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually. The project will employ around 250 people during construction and provide 15+ full time ongoing operational and maintenance jobs, delivering lasting economic benefits to the local region.
Project Timeline
Development
Phase period: 2024 – 2029
The Project is currently in the early stages of development. During this period, Lake Dalrymple Wind Farm will deploy wind monitoring equipment and develop strategies to guide planning approvals, EPBC approvals and connections options.
Construction
Phase period: 2030 – 2032
Approximately 140 wind turbines will be constructed, along with supporting infrastructure including road upgrades, site upgrades, site access tracks and workforce accommodation.
Commercial Operation Date
Phase period: 2032
Once fully commissioned, the Project will transition into operations and maintenance. At end of life, the wind farm will either be decommissioned and rehabilitated or repowered to extend the life of operations.

Location
The proposed site is west of Collinsville on Birriah and Bulganunna land.

FAQs
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the Lake Dalrymple Wind Farm?
The Lake Dalrymple Wind Farm is a proposed 1,000+ MW wind farm that will deliver clean, reliable power to over 430,000 Queensland homes.
Where is the project located?
The project site is southeast of Charters Towers, approximately 150km north-west of Mackay.
Why was this location chosen?
The proposed site has a strong wind resource and is ideally located near existing infrastructure and operating and planned renewable energy projects.
Who is developing the project?
Renewable Energy Partners (REP) originated the project in 2024. REP brings together a team of highly motivated professionals with over 150 years of combined experience to originate and develop large-scale renewable energy projects in Australia. REP have a total of 10GW of generation in various stages of development.
What approvals are required for the project?
The project is subject to Federal, State and Local Government planning and assessment processes. This includes a development application assessed under State Code 23 of the State Development Assessment Provisions, assessment under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, and negotiation of a Community Benefits Agreement with the broader community.
How will the project benefit the local community?
The project will support local jobs and supply chain opportunities during construction and operation. Up to 250 skilled workers are anticipated to be employed during peak construction, with a dedicated local team of over 15 technicians and operators once the wind farm is operational.
What is the Community Benefit Fund?
The project is committed to contributing to the community through a Community Benefit Fund (CBF), which will operate prior to, during and after construction. The fund is separate from the Community Benefits Agreement with Council and will support local community groups, not-for-profits, sporting clubs and schools.
What types of projects could the Community Benefit Fund support?
The Community Benefit Fund may support initiatives such as education scholarships, community gardens, sporting equipment, upgraded community facilities or local events. The aim is to deliver projects that support community priorities and create lasting local benefits.
